First time visiting a Gurdwara? Here's everything you need to know to feel comfortable and welcome.
Everyone covers their head as a sign of respect. Head coverings (bandanas/scarves) are available free at the entrance if you don't have one.
Shoes are removed before entering the main hall. Shoe racks are provided near the entrance. Socks can be kept on.
Visitors bow before the Guru Granth Sahib Ji (our holy scripture) and then sit on the floor. Chairs are available for those who need them.
Listen to the beautiful singing of hymns from Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Feel free to meditate, reflect, or simply absorb the peaceful atmosphere.
Before leaving the hall, you'll be offered Karah Prashad - a sweet sacred pudding. Cup both hands together to receive it.
Everyone is welcome to share a free vegetarian meal in the Langar Hall. Sit together on the floor - this represents equality for all.
The Gurdwara is open to people of all faiths, backgrounds, and beliefs. There is no dress code beyond covering your head. Come as you are - we're happy to have you!
